- Post-roll URL, when the CrossLoop client finishes a screen sharing session, a browser window is opened with a URL which you specify. You can choose not to have a post-roll, to only post-roll once when changed by you, or every time.
- CrossLoop Post-roll, you can choose to enable or disable the CrossLoop post-roll to get session feedback for your CrossLoop profile page.
This branding can be customized by logging in to the CrossLoop website and editing your profile. Your custom banner image is displayed on your public profile page. Your thumbnail image will have a "PRO" banner and there is a "My Download" button on the page.
After clicking on the "Edit Profile" link, your navigation bar on the left column includes "Professional Edition". Clicking on this link will take you to the page where you can customize your corporate branding.
You can upload a custom banner image, 240x40 pixels. This banner image will appear in several locations:
- CrossLoop public profile page
- Next to your profile image when your customer is asked to approve a screen sharing session
- Next to your profile image on your customer's CrossLoop client dialog when a screen sharing session is in progress
You can upload a custom footer image, 332x50 pixels. This footer image will appear on the client dialog:
- When a screen sharing session is in progress
- After you complete a screen sharing session, your custom footer will remain on your customer's dialog each time they run CrossLoop
You can specify a custom URL for a link from your footer. When the customer clicks on the footer a browser window will be opened with your Footer URL. You may leave this field blank if you do not wish to have a link from your footer.
When the CrossLoop client is launched by your customer, a browser window is opened with a URL which you specify. You can choose not to have a pre-roll, to only pre-roll once when changed by you, or every time.
When the CrossLoop client finishes each screen sharing session, a browser window is opened with a URL which you specify. You can choose not to have a post-roll, to only post-roll once when changed by you, or every time.
You can choose to enable or disable the CrossLoop post-roll when your customer finishes a screen sharing session to get session feedback for your CrossLoop profile page.
Click the "Save & Next" button after you have made changes to your corporate branding.
In addition to the changes which your customer will see on your public profile page, customers will see a "PRO" on your account listing in search results.
The following screen shots illustrate the display of your corporate branding on your customer's CrossLoop client dialog.
The approve dialog is displayed on your customer's computer when you have both clicked the "Connect" button.
When a screen sharing session is in progress the customer will see your profile image, your banner and your footer images.
After the screen sharing session has completed, the customer will continue to see your footer image. This footer image, and associated footer URL, will remain when they launch the CrossLoop client. Your corporate branded footer will be "sticky" until either the CrossLoop client is uninstalled and reinstalled, or the client shares their screen with a different CrossLoop Pro expert.
CrossLoop Pro provides unattended remote access to your computers and other persons' computers. The unattended remote access feature is controlled by new menu items and an additional confirmation dialog during the login process. The two new menu items are:
- Manage Remote Access
- Access Remote Computer
If the CrossLoop client is not logged in the "Manage Remote Access" menu item displays the message, "Login required".
If the CrossLoop client is not logged in the "Access Remote Computer" menu item displays the message, "Login to Professional account required".
If the CrossLoop client is logged into a simple account the "Manage Remote Access" menu item displays the message, "Remote access not enabled - check your settings on www.crossloop.com". You must enable unattended remote access on your account settings page in order for your computer to be remotely accessed. This is because remote access requires the necessary presence polling.
When the CrossLoop client logs in to a Helper Pro account, the following dialog is displayed to ask you if you want to run CrossLoop at startup.
When the CrossLoop client logs in to a simple account with remote access enabled on the account settings page, the following dialog is displayed to ask you if you want to run CrossLoop at startup.
When the CrossLoop client logs in to a Helper Pro account, the following dialog is also displayed to ask you if you want to allow UNATTENDED remote access from your account on this computer.
You can optionally disable unattended remote access from this computer by removing the checkbox from the "Manage Remote Access" menu.
You can access a remote computer by selecting the computer from the "Access Remote Computer" menu. Note that you may need to "Refresh" in order to see a computer which has recently come online. Remote computers may be grayed out for two reasons:
- Remote computer is offline or possibly turned off
- Remote computer is not logged into CrossLoop
If your remote computer is currently in a screen sharing session it will show "(busy)". You may proceed to remotely control that computer by selecting it. Note that the screen sharing session in progress will end and that you will begin a new screen sharing session.
When you have selected a computer for remote access, you will see a dialog indicating that CrossLoop is starting remote access. You may "Cancel" the remote access request or allow the screen sharing session to proceed.
When you end a screen sharing session that you have initiated with the "Access Remote Computer" menu, there will be no post-roll browser launched or CrossLoop feedback post-roll.
In addition to allowing you access to your own computers running CrossLoop Pro in your account, you can also be given permission to remotely access a computer from a different account. The "Allow remote access" checkbox is displayed when someone with a CrossLoop Pro account is accessing your computer. Note that both computers must be running the CrossLoop 2.70 client.
When you have allowed some other CrossLoop Pro account to access your computer, you can remove permission from that user by removing the checkbox in the "Manage Remote Access" menu.
In order to avoid disconnecting a CrossLoop screen sharing session when a User Account Control (UAC) dialog appears,
CrossLoop needed to run screen sharing in service mode. This capability is not yet available for
TightVNC. For this reason, CrossLoop now uses UltraVNC for the service mode screen sharing.
CrossLoop is a shell program which uses fork and exec to invoke a VNC (Virtual Network Computing) program. The
Windows version of CrossLoop now uses the UltraVNC plug-in
program, a free GPL-licensed, remote control
software package derived from the popular VNC software. The
binaries of UltraVNC are unmodified and are included in the CrossLoop installation software.
The binaries for UltraVNC can be downloaded here: winvnc_1.0.8.2.bins.zip
Note that only the following binary files are distributed with the CrossLoop download:
- winvnc.exe
- VNCHooks.dll
- vncviewer.exe
